DS PENSKE is delighted to announce the signing of 21-year-old British driver Taylor Barnard, who will join the team for the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship (Season 12) alongside seasoned race winner Maximilian Günther.
Barnard has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in international motorsport. After a decorated karting career, he transitioned to single-seaters in 2020, finishing runner-up in the 2022 ADAC Formula 4 Championship and again in the 2023 Formula Regional Middle East Championship. Later that year, he claimed his maiden FIA Formula 3 victory at Spa-Francorchamps before stepping up to FIA Formula 2, where he scored a breakthrough win in the Monaco Sprint Race in 2024.
His Formula E career began in 2023 where he made history as the youngest driver ever to start a Formula E race during his debut in Monaco 2024, as a Reserve Driver. That season, he went on to become both the youngest point scorer and later, as a full-time driver in Season 11, the youngest podium finisher and pole sitter in Formula E history. Barnard has already established himself as a consistent front-runner in the championship.
This season, DS PENSKE is blending youth promise with proven success. Barnard takes the next step in his career with the american team, where he will team up with experienced and multiple race-winning Maximilian Günther in one of the most competitive line-ups on the grid.
Maximilian Günther himself once burst onto the scene as a sensational rookie and has since developed into one of the most accomplished drivers in Formula E. Across Season 11, Gunther displayed both raw speed and adaptability, tallying multiple victories at key circuits (Jeddah and Shanghai) and reinforcing his status as one of the Formula E’s most formidable contenders.Together, the duo represents both the next generation of electric racing and proven success at the highest level.
The iconic black and gold livery will be back at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. The DS E-Tense FE25 will make its return at the Official Pre-Season testing on 27-29 October 2025 before the season-opening São Paulo E-Prix on 6 December 2025.
