Berlin-Tempelhof, Germany – The 2025 Berlin double-header delivered an intense weekend that matched the city’s dynamic spirit—Berlin never fails to thrill. On a technical track and through ever-changing weather, drivers were pushed to the limit. Jean-Éric Vergne and Maximilian Günther rose to the challenge, demonstrating exceptional skill and racecraft throughout both races at one of the most iconic events on the calendar.
Round 13 – The Saturday race saw DS PENSKE returns to form in wet and unpredictable conditions at Berlin’s Tempelhof circuit. Maximilian Günther impressed in qualifying, showing strong pace to secure a P5 starting position—highlighting the performance potential of the DS E-TENSE FE25.
Günther made solid progress in the race, climbing up the order and positioning himself for a potential podium finish. With just eight laps to go, both DS drivers—Günther in fourth and Jean-Éric Vergne in third—were firmly in the fight at the front.
However, a late Safety Car disrupted the momentum. Vergne was forced to retire due to a suspension failure on a common part, while Günther, unable to activate Attack Mode in the final stages, lost ground. Despite the setback, the German driver managed to finish sixth, scoring eight important points for the team.
Round 14 – With dry track conditions offering a clean slate for the Sunday race, it was a new day and a new opportunity for DS PENSKE. However, a red flag in qualifying disrupted the session, leaving both drivers to start from the back of the grid. Undeterred, the team leaned on the resilience and fighting spirit of its drivers. Jean-Éric Vergne put on a stunning display, climbing from P18 to P5 by lap 29—delivering a true masterclass in racecraft and determination.
Keeping his head cool and the pedal to the metal, JEV managed his energy and strategy to perfection, holding off fierce competition. JEV crossed the line in third, securing a hard-fought podium and valuable points for the team.
As the race entered its final phases, Maximilian Günther was forced to retire due to technical issues with a standardised component, common to all the cars.
Final Stop: London ExCeL, UK – DS PENSKE is ready to keep momentum going as the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship heads to London ExCeL for the final E-Prix of the Season.

Maximilian Günther – DS PENSKE driver
‘I’m disappointed with how Race 2 ended, but I’m taking away the positives. What we achieved as a team was high quality, and our performance level was strong: that’s something I’m pleased about. Today, we had a clear strategy and we stuck to it. Everything was going well: we had a very good energy level, excellent pace, and two Attack Modes to use. I was just behind today’s winner, who had the same strategy. Unfortunately, a front transmission issue subsequently forced me to retire. Continuing would have been too dangerous, as everything was overheating and the brakes weren’t always responding properly. It’s a real pity, because as a driver, you always want to score as many points as possible. But I also think we learned a lot this weekend.’
Jean-Éric Vergne, DS PENSKE Driver – 2018 & 2019 Formula E Champion
‘I’m really very happy with Sunday’s race. It’s been a very tough weekend in terms of results: the team has done a great job behind the scenes but just hasn’t always been rewarded for it. Yesterday, we were having a very good race, but we had suspension problems that compromised our podium fight. This morning, when the car was performing well, a red flag dashed our hopes of making it to the duels in qualifying. So we had to start from way back on the grid. To end up on the podium today is a great reward for the whole team. I think we all deserved it!’
