Following exhilarating races in Italy, Monaco and Germany, ABB FIA Formula E Championship is heading East, making a historic return to China for its first-ever races in Shanghai, one of the most world’s most dynamic cities . Round 11 and Round 12 will take place at the iconic Shanghai International Circuit, renowned for its thrilling motorsport heritage, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May at 15h03 local time.

 DS PENSKE, energized by their recent double podium finishes, are eager to continue their strong performance streak. The team is commited to delivering outstanding results at the Shanghai E-Prix, utilisizing their competitive spirit and strategic expertise. 

The E-Prix will feature a specially designed shorter variation of the track, tailored to optimize close-up street racing. This unique 3.05km circuit will challenge drivers with 29 laps on Saturday and 28 laps on Sunday, promising intense competition and breathtaking action. 

Energy Management will be crucial to success, presenting a formidable challenge for all competitors. The Team can rely on the talents of 2-time Formula E Champion Jean-Eric Vergne and the 2022 World Champion Stoffel Vandoorne who will meticulously strategize to navigate the demands of the circuit while optimizing their energy usage. 

The Shanghai International Circuit provides a spectacular setting for this exciting event. Fans can look forward to a weekend of high-octane racing as Formula E showcases the future of electric motorsport in this vibrant megalopolis.

The main challenge we will all have to manage here is the energy usage, to be and stay in the front. With the Team, we have been preparing intensely in the simulator to fight for strong results, and I am determined to push very hard to keep translating our progress into points and victory.’

‘It’s our first time here, amazing background and a new venue for us, so it Is going to be intense. We worked hard with the team and I feel fully prepared for this challenging layout. We have been consistently quick in free practice, and often very fast in the races too, our package showed its pace and I want us to deliver a strong weekend. I am really looking forward to racing on Shanghai and bringing Formula E back to the Chinese fans!’
